Jack Tandy

Jack A. Tandy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 21, 1957. He graduated from Franklin Central High School and Wabash College. He graduated from Wabash Magna Cum Laude and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa scholastic fraternity.  He graduated from the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis in 1982.  He began private practice with Blankenship & Caudill in Indianapolis in 1982.  Tandy moved to Shelby County in 1983 and successfully ran for Judge of Shelby County Court in 1984.  He served as a trial judge in Shelby County Court, Shelby Superior Court #2 and Shelby Superior Court #1 for a total of thirty years, retiring from the bench on December 31, 2014.

 

He is married to Kim Brooks Tandy, who is an attorney and the Executive Director of the Children's Law Center in Covington, KY. Kim is a nationally recognized expert in juvenile delinquency matters. Jack and Kim have five children and two grandchildren.

 

Jack is actively involved in community affairs. He has been actively involved in Habitat for Humanity of Shelby County for 20 years and has served several terms as Board President. Tandy is a member of the Shelby County Bar and Indiana State Bar.  He served as a Board Member of Shelby County Community Corrections since their inception in 1986 through his retirement in 2014.

Tammy Crenshaw

Tammy Crenshaw was born in Shelbyville, IN, on September 8, 1967.  She grew up in Shelbyville and graduated from Shelbyville High School.  Tammy spent 5 years as a Deputy Clerk in the Shelby County Clerk’s Office where she clerked for the Honorable Judge Tandy and the Honorable Judge Apsley in Shelby Superior Court I.  She also worked for the Honorable Judge Riggins in Shelby Superior Court II prior to joining Tandy Law, LLC.  Tammy graduated from National Paralegal College in May of 2015.


Concurrently, Tammy is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Rush Shelby Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program where she recruits and trains local volunteers to advocate for children in the Rush and Shelby County Court systems.  She also mentors high school girls as a Senior High Youth Group Leader at Shelbyville Community Church.

 

Tammy is married to Todd Crenshaw, another Shelby County native, who is a Project Manager with Coreslab Structures, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN.
